For 10 years, on the last Saturday of the month of November, we organize a Night Walk called "Rosa del Nord", in memory of the people persecuted by the Pyrenees mountains seeking freedom during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39 and the Second World War 1942-45.
This year we do it on the night of November 26 to 27.
The "Rosa del Nord" runs from Aravell to Sant Julià de Lòria (Andorra) and was a common route for fugitives who followed the Segre route to enter Andorra. It is a stretch of 22 km and 1,600 m of accumulated positive difference.
The walkers who participate in the "Rosa del Nord" identify with all the fugitives and those persecuted by totalitarian ideologies around the world and that is why we walk at night, without provisions and in adverse weather conditions, since it is done outside of winter, practically coinciding with the last stage of an expedition in which, among others, Saint Josemaria Escrivà de Balaguer went, who entered Andorra on the night of December 1 to 2, 1937.
The organization will be in charge of Toni Cucurull, member of the "Associació d'Amics del Camí de Pallerols de Rialb a Andorra"
The Walk will start at 2.30 pm at the restaurant in Golf d'Aravell and will end at the "Centre Cultural i de Congressos Lauredià", in the Pça. de la Germandat, of Sant Julià de Lòria. The fastest ones will take about 5-6 hours and the slowest ones about 7-8 hours.
There will be volunteers located along the route to help walkers with difficulties.
Come with your family and friends, and sign up on the attached ticket.
