The Association Friends of the Route from Pallerols de Rialb to Andorra was born in 2002, to mark the Centennial Anniversary of the birth of Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. Since then we have been working on the recovery of the facts, circumstances, routes and portions of the path followed by the Saint Josemaría fugitives as well as others during the months of November-December 1937. We count among our membership people from all over the world.
Very early on, we were dedicated to the memory of all those who, for reasons of conscience, had to flee through these mountains. This remembrance leads us to respect all, in their freedom, and to promote peace and coexistence among all people the world over. We must learn tolerance of our differences in ideology, race, religion, language and national traditions. This was a great desire of Saint Josemaría and is a very important part of his legacy.
We have a Board of Directors and various Work Comissions, led by the people who administer and coordinate our works.
We have several levels of membership:
Honor Members: Persons who have been distinguished for their help and aid to the Association.
Standard Members: Persons who with their modest but continuous contributions allow us to achieve all the goals we have set ourselves. They comprise the majority of our membership.
Finally we must highlight the work done by Volunteers who collaborate selflessly in cleaning and marking the routes, as wells as tasks of administration, cultural and historical aspects, etc.
