On Saturday, May 27, the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria (Principality of Andorra) celebrated the traditional Gathering of the Virgin Mary of Canòlich, patroness of the parish, solemnly celebrating the 800th anniversary of the discovery of the image.
A large number of parishioners and devotees of the Virgin of Canòlich made a pilgrimage on foot to the Sanctuary, located at 1,635 m. high, to show their devotion and esteem to the Virgin Mary.
Representing the Association of Friends of the Pallerols Path in Rialb in Andorra, Jordi Piferrer, Jordi Pérez and Ramon Camats attended.
The culmination of the celebration took place at 12:00 in the outside tent of the Sanctuary, with the Eucharist presided over by the Archbishop of Urgell and Prince ofAndorra, Msgr. Joan-Enric Vives, and concelebrated by Mn. Pepe Chisvert, Rector of the parish of Sant Julià and for the other priests of the Principality of Andorra. The Eucharist was attended by a large number of faithful who filled the marquee and esplanade of the Sanctuary, led by the authorities, the Head of Government of Andorra, M.I. Mr. Xavier Spot; the General Ombudsman, M.I. Carles Enseñat; some ministers and the Consuls of the Parish of Sant Julià, Hbles. Josep Majoral and Mireia Codina and other councillors.

The mass was solemnized by the singing of various choirs: the Rocafort Choir, the Signum Choir of La Seu d'Urgell, the Capella Choir of Santa Maria de Puigcerdà and the musical accompaniment of the Ciutat de Manresa choir.
On the occasion of the eighth centenary of the meeting of the Sacred Image of the Virgin, Pope Francis granted the grace of plenary indulgence to all the faithful who visited the Sanctuary of Canòlich between May 20 and 27 and had the disposition interior of a total renunciation of sin, even venial, and, moreover, fulfill the conditions that the Church demands: confession, communion and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Finally, we announce that next Wednesday, May 31, the pilgrimage will take place in Rome to bring a polychrome wooden carving of the Virgin of Canòlich to the Holy Father.
